Lifeblood Award Nominations Being Accepted
The first ever Lifeblood Awards will be unveiled at the 2010 Annual Dinner at Der Dutchman.  Three awards will be given out each in the following categories:
  • Lifeblood Award for Volunteerism - This award is given to the person or a group of people whose volunteer efforts brought enormous value to the Central Ohio Chapter of NHF.
  • Lifeblood Award for Philanthropy - The winner of this award will be someone whose generosity goes far beyond the norm.  This isn't always measured in dollars and cents, but rather by how much that person had to sacrifice to ensure our chapter accomplished its goals.
  • Lifeblood Award for Inspiration - If your actions can serve as an inspiration to the bleeding disorders community, then you are a good candidate for this award.  Our chapter wants you to live life to the fullest and this award seeks to honor those who are doing just that.
We will honor each of the winners at the Annual Dinner on November 3, 2010 and will present them with a beautiful blown glass award.

Please download the nomination form and return it to our office by September 30, 2010 for consideration.

The results are finally in!  The 2009 Hemophilia Walk raised just over $65,000 and since the chapter exceeded its $50,000 fundraising goal, NHF will be kicking in an extra $10,000 as a bonus!  500 people showed up to walk and nearly 100 people volunteered on the day of the event.  All in all, the event was a great success!  Thanks to everyone that participated!

Introducing Billy the Blood Drop!
Billy the Blood Drop
Our new mascot, Billy the Blood Drop, made his first public appearance at the 2009 Hemophilia Walk.  He was a huge hit with the crowds of walkers. Click here to see photos of Billy from the Walk.

While we plan to have Billie at many of our events here in Central Ohio, we're more than willing to let him go to other hemophilia or blood-related charity events.  Contact us for more information on renting Billy.
