Infusion Weekend

The Central Ohio Chapter teams up with Nationwide Children’s Hospital each spring to host Infusion Weekend, a 3-day, 2-night retreat with the main purpose to teach kids and parents how to self-infuse their clotting factor.  The staff at the hemostatis and thrombosis treatment center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital handpick the families they believe are ready to learn this liberating new skill.

In addition to receiving one-on-one instruction from qualified medical staff on how to do the self infusion, parents receive education on a variety of other topics while their kids play together in a suprvised environment.

Infusion Weekend usually takes place in March at Deer Creek State Park Resort and Conference Center.  Here, families enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities, comfortable accommodations, and of course, the indoor pool.
